Stuart Bodsworth the Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesperson for Stockport has slammed Labour's NHS targets for forcing our local hospital to stop offering knee operations.

The Manchester Evening News has this week revealed that in October Stepping Hill Hospital closed their waiting list for knee operations "so it could meet Government waiting time targets."

Stuart Bodsworth said "Stepping Hill is a top notch hospital. It is a disgrace that New-Labour's control freak mentality has resulted in local people missing out. These artificial targets set by New-Labour politicians in London must be replaced by genuine local priorities and more trust in the health professionals."

Labour need to get their hands off our health service.
