8 Green Flags and a Gold Medal for Stockport's Parks

Cllr David White states " Awards for Stockports parks are proof that Lib Dems are delivering a Safer Cleaner Greener Borough"

Stockport's parks have added two more Green Flag awards to their 2005 total of 6.The new awards go to Torkington Park in Hazel Grove and the Chadkirk Estate in Romiley.

The Six existing Green flag parks retained their awards which recognise good parks management, sustainable working practices and community involvement in looking after and improving green spaces. They are : Brinnington , Cale Green , Etherow , Marple memorial , Bruntwood and Vernon Parks.

In the Royal Horticultural Society's national gardens competition at Tatton Park, Stockport's parks Dept won Gold for their attractive garden representing the famous Marple Locks.

Lib Dem led Stockport Council aim to continue to improve and develop the Boroughs many parks and green spaces to the highest standards.

Stockport Lib Dem Chair David White says " This is a great vote of confidence for Stockport's Lib Dems Aim to create a Safer Cleaner Greener Borough "
