Cllr Susan Derbyshire Executive Councillor (Regeneration) says " This is an exciting time for Stockport"

Lend Lease has been appointed as the Council's preferred developer for the development of Bridgefield Street, the prime site within the Councils £500 million vision for the transformation of the town centre. The development of Bridgefield Street is at the heart of the Council's regeneration plan - Future Stockport- which will create a lively destination for residents, workers and visitors, with a vibrant mix of retail , residential and leisure activities.

( Interestingly both Stockport Council and Bovis Lend Lease were two of only eight organisations in the country which won Green Apple Awards for waste management last year.)
