Lib Dem controlled Stockport Council in National Good Practice Report.

"As the youngest councillor in Stockport. I am proud of Stockports 4 star rated Council status" Cllr Chris Blackburn.

Stockport has made a starring appearance in the Audit Commission's new "Good Practice " publication. Two of the Stockport good practice case studies appear in the printed publication and a further two appear in the associated on-line web tool. No other authority has as many as Four good practice case studies in this national report.

The 4 case studies were :

Ensuring Effective Waste Services. ( CLEANER )

Improvement and Protection of Urban Green Space. ( GREENER )

Good Performance in tackling youth offending through effective partnership working and an effective offender strategy. ( SAFER )

Achieving improvement to health and surrounding environment through stopping smoking programme and smoke free establishments. ( STRONGER )
